This Technical Note is intended to supplement the DED Directive “Immediate Response Account – WFP’s Life-Saving Emergency Reserve” (DED 2022/003) [hereafter: “IRA Directive”]. The objective of this Technical Note is to assist WFP offices in determining whether activities are eligible for Immediate Response Account (IRA) allocations. It also outlines the application process for requesting an IRA allocation. The technical note should be read in conjunction with the IRA Directive which provides the definition of “life-saving” as well as the high-level criteria for eligibility. The IRA guidance may be periodically updated or expanded by the Emergency Operations Division.
